Ninja, forced to fight in the thickets and premises, preferred short swords. A traditional sword rarely exceeded 60 cm. A few meters of rope were tied to a scabbard: the sword could become a hanging bench or step.

Kusarigama

Presumably, the art of owning these weapons appeared either in the XIV or in the XVII century. Perhaps the use of ninja sickle was associated with the need to camouflage weapons under everyday agricultural tools.

Poisons

In the Middle Ages, ninjas widely used poisons. The most famous and described in the literature method of killing with poison is to drop drops of poisonous substance into the victim’s mouth or ear along a string or thread hanging from above.
